IMO the 5000 looks weak compared to other 2500w RMS amps. Here is the AQ from the amp guts section.

On the 300 it says 1400wx1ohm RMS On the 5000 it says 2500x1ohm RMS power. On their pic of the 3000 on their website I can see there are 4 fuses IDK what amp rating they are though I cant read it. Anyone know what purple is lol. That would give you a closer idea of the real capabilities. My BRZ is fused for 140amps but does close to 1200w. Here is a pic of the XTX5000 guts.

Wont it pull wayy more amperage at .5 ohm than your alt setup can put out. So it wont get 16v in reallty. But if you cant upgrade your elctrical how are you going to buy a new amp if it takes a shit at .5ohm.

There are 2 Sundown SAZ1500 V1's on CACO under mono amplifiers right now.

You can get a BRZ1700 for a little over 200$ shipped online. Thats a pretty broad range of power you are looking for. What about used SKar1500 or similar? Have you looked on CACO.

Take a few days and look around on here...you will learn ridiculously fast that if anyone is close to sony Xplods out of the subs mentioned in this thread..its the Kickers LOL. At the price point its hard to beat the Obsidian Audio's...they are releasing an 18" too. But look at Sundown, Incriminator, Skar, FI, DC, PSI, Ascendant Audio etc...same suggestion as everyone else. Dual SA-15's in a optimal ported box would be a good match for that zx1500....but they could probably take one zx1500 each.... The bigest factor here out of all the brands everyone will recommend is the box. If your box is wrong it will suck...regardless if it a DD Z sub or a 10" BOSS. Have someone on here help you out with enclosure design...because my guess is that if no one you talk to knows FI than they probably shouldnt build you your box either.

Yea lol....I mean its cool but in the end it doesnt seem like it would accomplish anything that hasnt been done. Maybe more linear cone travel?? IDK. His other subs look like they have shit ton excursion but no vids of an enclosure or any of them really playing.

Looks like it .........but wont it be hard to remove/install because it will rub against the top and bottom of box and that joint at the 90* would take alot of stress twisting it in. What about PVC or Aero's....make removable and have 2 different lengths. Or 2 ports one on each side that are square tubes made of MDF...they dont go all the way to top/bottom of box but are 4 sided and removable. You could hav e ashort one 4 spl and longer ones for daily.

I guess it would be a cool lamp or piece of art...but mounting depth would be a bitch.

Looks like alot of wasted softparts for what? LOL his whole youtube channel looks like ajoke..there isnt any videos of his subs in an enclosure. IDK what the concept behind this was..or the other ubs on his channel. It looks like he too a 8"sub cone/surround glued it to a 12" surround.... What would the big3 do to help him having a less than substantial amp? Big 3 helps if you have voltage drop...thats it....its not a magical power adder that gets you more rms power from your amp. BRZ's are not amazing but gets the job done alright....at least their ratings are much more realistic...I would venture to say its still better than the Soundstorm. Using the fuse rating 40x3 and a perfect world of 14.4volts you get 120amps x 14.4v = 1728watts. Thats in a perfect world...I doubt it puts that much out...my BRZ is fused for 140amps and puts out 1000-1100... maybe lol. OP save a few bucks more and go with BC2000 Crecendo...or even try and find a used one or used sundown or skar 1500. THere are some more too...just go through the FS secton. I looked up the Crecendo. It seems they're hard to find? Would you know where I could purchase one? Thanks. Edit: I'd prefer to get one new, not used. But if I have to I will peruse the FS section to find one. Sent Mark an email already, he has given awesome customer service in the past. It's just that I've worked my ass off for this and then for this to happen just made me pretty mad. I'm not so mad anymore, just hopeful that I can get it fixed since it's not something that I did to break it. So I guess I'll give him some time to get back to me and I did also provide him with the pictures and all =) Unless you abused it...Im pretty sure they will take care of you.

I would think it would be considered manufacturing defect. I would just email them tell them everything you have posted on here and see what they say. My guess is they would fix it because its not like you burnt a VC or somehting from overpowering but I guess you could have played it free air exceeding the limits of the soft parts. Not saying you did though. Email em. see what they say..provide pics and details on box tuning pics of amp setup etc. Than if they are helpful or not post correspondance on here...my guess is SSA will provide you with quality customer service.

Looking around on other car forums real quick returned some results showing the general consensus is good...but used sets were going anywhere from 250-500$ a set. You could probably build your own 3 way component set for less.
