oldsch00lf00l Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 I have a question for all you Stetsom owners. How on earth do you deal with the fan noise? I ask because I recently purchased a 1K5 H and that bad boy sounds like a mini-hoover on my test bench since the fan runs constantly. Don't get me wrong, it is a powerful amp for its size, but I have concerns that it may end up being too loud for my planned rear seat delete with amp rack in a 2006 Mustang GT. I also have a few other amps with fans that kick on when they warm up, so I may be dealing with a whole lot of fan noise.

kickass audio Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 ill tell you how i somewhat fixed it. I had the same problem and i have a stetsom 2k6d, great amp by the way. But when its cold (winter) temp outside when i turn the radio on the bearing is louder than hell on it. I just got a small dropper of tufoil lubit-8 oil and i take out the fan and if you remove the label on the fan you will expose the bearing that is on it. Just put 2 small drops on the fan and fire it up for a few minutes and then i put one more drop of oil on it and i havent had any problems since then. The only thing you can hear with my fan on the 2k6d is the air it is pulling in and pushing out on the other side but it no longer sounds like a plane taking off in my back of the truck. lol.
