JordanSchumaker Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 no im educated. ive been around since the first idiots thought it was a good idea. ive seen the pictures of it melted all over carpets and ruining leather etc. me being a mod has nothing to do with it. i still have an opinion and you have no first hand experience with it. roofing material cant wipe the ass of a real buytl based deadener. Youre right i do not have any experience with it first hand but as people have posted they havent had any problems with it. Its a hit and miss kinda thing. And i have seen my friends car perfectly fine not one problem with it so far. Like i said in my last post i didnt come on here to argue but to just say what i have seen with it. And people have posted that it doesn't work. You choose to side with the opinions and arguments that work for you. It's human nature. But if you associate with cheap products so be it. BUT! Do not expect to come to a very experienced and knowledgeable group of audio enthusiasts and get butt hurt because they don't "approve" of cheap, crappy, imitation, ghetto, ugly, stinky, flammable, tar based roofing material. As far as I see it, it is a mods responsibility to help inform the community, not find a cheap alternative. That's like going to a aston martin dealership, and expecting them to tell you its ok to find an 88 Toyota camry and how its good for the money. Okay im going to make an analogy here also. Honestly i would rather buy fake gold than real gold. Why you might ask? It looks exactly the same, serves the same purpose, and costs 10 times cheaper. My point is, Peel and seel does the same thing as second skin, dynamat, fatmat, whatever for cheaper. I like to save money because i have to earn it myself and pay for my own stuff so it works for me. Im done arguing with you people.

I didnt come on here to start arguing. Everybody has their own opinions on differnt products and youre just one of the haters... enough said. and i used to use a cap and 8awg 10 strand wire screwed to the car for a ground, no terminal. it worked perfectly fine for years. was it rite? HEEEEELLLLLLL no. understand that people like n8 are NOT hating or trying to boss you around. they have been there and have the experience to give the correct answer. now ask the same question every week and you dont get a calm perfectly nice answer. you get an annoyed veteran that gives a short answer because he is tired of explaining it over and over. keep learning and one day you will be the same way. damplifier is very thin so saying this stuff is just as thick doesnt say much. the foil on peel and seal is like 2 layers of tinfoil. SS's foil is really thick, you cant tare it. and the foil is a key part of dampening. so you can go lighter by paying more for the good stuff. I know everyone wants to save money. but you wouldnt use particle board because its cheaper would you?
