boomer i think he's saying that port area alone doesn't mean it'll play a certain way no matter how you put it. if you have a port that's 3" x 33" (1:11 ratio), it'll play a flatter bandwidth response than the same box, with the same port area but with dimensions more like 6" x 16.5" (1:3 ratio). the 1:3 ratio will have a peaky response.

On BP, ported, both? I just went back and looked at my port as I never knew anything about ratios and mines a 1:2 but sounds fine across a good frequency range to me, and I do agree some music (I think it's the music) will sound quiet in the bass department but it otherwise has good output

IN going over that database, you see almost all of the A.I built cars tend to peak below 45hz..even cars that you wouldnt necessarily expect to peak below 45

I try to keep it around 40

Thats where the majority of regular bass is at.

Playing down to 30 is fine, but not alot of "radio style" tracks down there
