OrionStang
I found some pretty cheap vinyl that is 3-way stretch. What is the difference between 3-way and 4-way stretch vinyl? Also found a color that matches my car for 8.95 a yard, is that a good price? This is for my sub enclosure. Neo_frog
That's a great site for vinyl and everything associated. The stretch levels are just how the threads are woven in the back I believe. The four way stretch stuff will be your best bet if you have little experience with wrapping. (I'm learning the hard way right now lol) Make sure you get some good adhesive if you're going to be messing with a lot of curves. (Also...I'm learning the hard way) Need an install? OrionStang
So nobody knows the difference? I know it has to do with the way the backing is cut, but little else. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
TeamHT
yes, it has to do with the backing, and the matting used and placed furing production. vinyl itself is able to stretch and contour with heat, its the backing that keeps the vinyl maintain said contour. three-way backing is normally lines running vertically, horizontally, and one direction diagonally, which allows the vinyl to stretch in 3 different directions. four-way obviously is the exact same thing, except the vinyl is able to stretch out in all directions. TeamHT
no problem. depending on what im doing, 4way stretch is much easier and quicker to work with. sometimes though, depending on the color or the print, it is not worth the extra $7-$15 a yard for 4way stretch.
