Stephen Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 i made one with a resistor and a potentiometer for about $10. so i can adjust to what ever voltage i want 12v to 21v. i have a thread somewhere on here werent you the guy that wouldnt tell anyone how to wire this up? if not im sorry for the confusion. pretty sure i posted how i did it in the thread, maybe not? you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. I just remember reading somthing similar to this, and the person wouldnt let anyone know how they did it. MY TRUCK BUILD - 1976 F-100 Ranger. If a MLA works than this should work, you just have to find the right wire. I'll probably try it, just a little scared b/c Chrysler. But not too scared. Where there's a will there's a way, rt? I'll let you know how it turns out! I think you would have to bypass the PCM, if it controls the voltage like steps it back to 12.5 like the newer GM's I know do. And you have to tap into the sense voltage on the regulator. I talked to MLA and they said like $250 for an MLA mod and I said why don't I just do this and he laughed at me and said it was stupid and they would save a lot of money if it was that simple. Purplehaze Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Well, after a little research, I have found that there is a little more to it than just diodes for us that drive MOPAR. Like AMI said, the voltage reg. is built in to our cars PCM, so that has to be bypassed. I think for my Cruiser I'll just go w/ MLA, but for my S10, the diode trick will work just fine. wizart383 Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 I was looking into buying a mechman GM Adjustable Voltage Boost Module but found this tread, I took a closer look at the harnest and sall a micro potentiometer. I was woundering if they use diods with a potentiometer or just the potentiometer? Anyway I went to Radio Shack and picked up some diods and a protentiometer and see what I could do.
Loudcivic Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 yes that can work. wut pot did you get because the lower pot like a 10k will have a fast increase as you turn resulting in a spike at a certain point. if you use lets say a 50k you will be able to fine tune it better and not have such a big spike. 2015 silverado crew cab nothing atm but soon...

Are you SURE you got the correct wire? I am yet to see results like yours A potentiometer would be adjustable. lower tuning is just hard.
