S15_Silvia
I know there is another thread asking this same question, but the OP there hasn't really named an application or budget. I'm looking for a 12" sub that'll go in the trunk of a Subaru Legacy sedan- it's looking like that's what my next vehicle will be. Enclosure will be sealed, wattage will be about 900, and my budget is about $300. Current subs I've thought of: DD 3500, Fi Q, TC Sounds LMS, RE XXX 2005 model. Let's see what you can come up with! 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. S15_Silvia
With Image Dynamics going the way it has, I'd either wait for what comes afterward or avoid it altogether. I know aesthetics are not something a person looking for a certain sound should give a damn about, but I find their woofers hideous. I'd look at it every day and frown 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. S15_Silvia
I checked out MMATS...specifically the P3.0. I like them a lot, but they only come in dual 4 it seems, which wouldn't work out with my amp putting out max power at 1ohm. (maybe beg them to make me a dual 2?) Memphis isn't US-assembled (not a huge deal, but I'd prefer it), and the M-series sub page advertised the conductivity of the basket. No sale from me there. ARC products don't have standard 4/6/12 spoke baskets, which would limit me if I want to recone the sub into something different later. JL just bothers me, and the use of proprietary parts again limits future recones. Haha I'm being picky as hell about this, but I am looking for THE sub for me. 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. S15_Silvia
Bump I suppose... I called DD about the 2500...while they strongly recommend running any of their subs ported, the rep I spoke with (Kyle) was really helpful and said the 2500 would be good with running sealed. I was quoted a price that I don't disagree with, so I may go that route...always wanted to try some DD out. Unless you guys have further suggestions 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. Supercharged DCs
I was just going mention that DDs love ported boxes, but if you've heard straight from the source that a 2512 will sound good in a sealed box, then I say go for it. I'm in love with my SC DD3515f, on 200w it has better SQ and SPL than my previous CV Stroker122 on 1200w Can't go wrong with DD! Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.
ALPINE408
You do know sq and 1 ohm don't mix right? Have you ever had your woofers blown?
