In CALI it does go on your record as a moving violation. If you do not come to a complete stop it will flash you. My last ticket I got was driving offroad on the interstate offramp. WTF drove all the way to Hollywood and back, not a speeding ticket but a ticket for driving over the freeway barrier! Damn.

I did get a ticket for the failing to come to a complete stop at an intersection. It was a $280 ticket, but went to court and beat the ticket! The right light camera fine is $425 but if you contest it, 9/10 times the judge will dismiss the ticket on grounds of not having a eye witness. The camera can snap a photo, and yes they have censors, but like all computers it does make mistakes. All you have to prove is that your car had stop for at least 1 second without any motion forward and you will win. Just prove to the court that reasonable doubt is based on the facts.

When a cop in California says: You didn\'t come to a complete stop because you didn\'t look both ways, or your bumper is on the white limit line say this:

The law does not specifically state how long a vehicle must be stopped. What is the implied definition of a stop? I expect as long as your wheels stop moving, even for a fraction of a second, your vehicle is considered stopped!

If you complete traffic school, this violation will be dismissed... as in it will not be reported to the DMV as a conviction and therefore it will not appear on your driving record. If you are found guilty, appeal it. If you lose again, take traffic school.

Just remember the courts only finds the officer\'s opinion shall be considered fact, but as long as you question and raise reasonable doubt by can trying to argue to the court that your car was \"stopped\" for a millisecond, and that a millisecond should be good enough!

I said one second, take photos and proved to the court that the officer location was blinded by street parking. The officer could not see the limit line nor was he in front or behind me! The officer pulled me over because he wanted to mess with me.

I got pulled over 7 times within 2 years, 4 motorcyle cops stops and 3 CHP stops. Got 2 tickets, beat one and went to traffic school for the other. I got 5 warnings, the best advice I can give is don\'t admit guilt or make any excuse for why you got pulled over. The officer will write down notes about the stop on his copy so he will be ready for court. Just answer NO to all questions \"Do you know why I pulled you over?\" Say, \"I\'m sorry, but no\" Let him/her do all the talking. The silent treatment works best in court. Withing the first 30 seconds, the officer will decide if he/she wants to write you a ticket.

You can only take traffic school once every 18 months in CA, but if you ask a judge to approve another traffic school before 18 months if you already went. In CA you can also have 2 trials and you can even have a summons by mail only. The officer doesn\'t get paid to write a report in a mail only summons, but does get paid to attend traffic courts. Most cops won\'t write or respond to a trial by mail summons. No response by officer, your case is dismissed. You do have to pay the fine upfront first, if the court finds in your favor, you get a refund check in the mail 30 days later!

The citation will have a link on it that you can go and watch the video of the infraction. It will show a few seconds before you get to the intersection to a few seconds after you finish your turn. If you did come to a complete stop, then you may never get the citation. There is a police officer that has to set and watch all of the infractions and then sign off on the citation. So, if the officer watches the video and you came to a complete stop, then you will probably never get anything in the mail. If you didn't come to a complete stop, then you will have a nice little City of Where Ever donation envelope coming to you.

The camera citations do not go on your driving record, so you just pay the fine and its over. Here in TN it is $75.00.

Let's just say I have had an experience or two with these red light cameras............lol
