Good question. If you want to run at half ohm and rely on rise you better have a stout electrical to put behind it. To me there is NO sense in running a 1 ohm stable amp at .5 in a daily application just to hope you get more power. I can understand in a competition vehicle where you only burp one freq and know all of the variables of your particular install. When playing music your rise is going to change with every frequency in the song. You may be seeing 2 ohms one second and 13 ohms the next.

i am aware of that.. rusty has told me he has ran i thank the 5k on .3 all day long.. they all can do that im sure.. yellow top under the hood cause very little internal resistence and iv heard can handle almost unlimited recharge and discharge rates... soo good idea if u ask me.. and 2 or 3 xs3100s

definitely go with a dc amp.. i would do two dc 2k's

now do you have any reasoning or is it because thats what you run.

i would go with the 5k imo its gonna be easier to run then strapping two amps bc alot more can go wrong wih 2 amps

5k its a no brainier one amp is much less hassle than 2 that's y i love my pb 4k rather than 2 or 3 boston gt 2300s i had trying to match everything and its easyer to tune even after u match gains

2 12ks and i dont know what to do

I have 2 xl on a dc 5k I was gonna run 2 aq 3500 but having 2 amps and electrical is to much of a hastle. And want I would want to upgrade all I have to do buy2 more subs and another big amp. Oh and in my opinion 1 big amp is cooler then 2 little ones.

ill be running two XL 18"s on a 5k

i say get a 5k

one amp makes it alot easier but either way you chose will work :drinks:
