How long have YOU been in the audio game?

about 17 years.

Started at a young teen putting stuff in my mom's car.

Competed since I was 15 in 95 with my mom's car then mine in 96.

first 150 in 98

Became a pro installer in 99

first 160 in 2003

first world finals in 2003

16 years half my life. Installed professionally for 3.5 years. Not stopping anytime soon :drinks: :woot:

Well my umbillicol cord was a power wire and the doctor had to use wire cutters to cut it'.... You do the math

Ive had a few decent systems over the past 10-12 years, this one being the best so far. I'm upgrading to bigger amps and eventually different subs.

8 years for me, professionally installed for 2 years at two different shops. Got my first 160 last year!!!!

Damnn, You both have been in this for a while so huh What would have to be the biggest change you`ve seen to car audio?

Also, Well i suppose it would be pretty much like anything else but would you say its something you never stop learning about ?

Probably the powering aspect. NOBODY used to have more than their stock battery with more than 4AWG wire to it, and that was about it. Class D has changed things in a big way too; imagine having only class A/B amps for your whole system!

I'll never forget hearing an RF Power 1000 for the first time- I thought that kid was unbeleivable for having 1000 watts! No one locally had that much power in their car. He was also the first I ever saw (locally) to have kick panels; we spent HOURS listening to music and sound effects, angling those things and the SQ was astonishing for what it was.

CD players were already commonplace and I demo'd AudioControl Epincenters and EQTs back then, so it is mostly the power aspect that has changed. Sigh, what a ride.

21 years ago, when my first setup was how to make your house speakers bump louder in your car than car audio subs back in the day. Having PA horn tweeters in the dash and learning how to get my tape deck to output to my house amp installed in the car! HAHAHAHAHAH brings back memories, what do you have bumping in your ride son? "I got me some 18" Cerwin-Vega's in the back!"

Found out later, that it was too much work to take out your speakers and amp out on a daily basis, so I had to get some real gear put in.

My household setup was louder than any mobile car system I ran into back in the day before cd players! The day when 8 ohms were the norm for bigger bass!
