I think you were right about him being over. It looks like the xa-1000 is rated @ 640w max and the ea-4000 is rated @ 400w max. This is according to- http://www.eclipse-web.com/

i have the owners manual to my XA-1000...its rated at 480W RMS@ 2 ohms. idk since when ppl look at max power rating.

my shits legit under 1000 Watts. and the EA 4000 is 75 Watts RMS @4 ohms x4.

Edit: if u want me to really be a douche about it. the HU does 14W rms per channel.( even though there not hooked up) u can add that if u like

I'm not being a dick and neither should you. If others have to go by what the stated max output of their amp is so should you. The XA-1000 states- 480w @ 2ohm with 1% THD and 640w @ 2ohm with 10% THD.

OK I FIXED THE FIRST POST SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION. WERE GOING BY MANUFACTURER SPECS RMS AT ITS LOWEST RATED OHM LOAD.

if the amp is 600 RMS at 2 ohm and 1200 RMS at 1 ohm your out

I started going through the list today but things have come up at work. its very tough to police all these and it should be an honor system. I did find one user but want to do the whole list first.

For those of you that think you are going to sneak it claiming you are only running it at four ohms or whatever that does not fly. Let's play by the rules. If I bend them for one because they are only 100 watts over the rules are now gone. Even if you have an amp thats not going to do close to rated thats not our problem. its still rated over the limit.

So it seems that there is alot of misunderstand with this theme.

Can we get (or make) a solid set of rules for this month? (Not to step on anyones toes.)

Are we talking about 1000 watts RMS, or 1000 watts on the box (or amp)?

And what about the 4 ohm rule people keep refering to?

I'd just like to get some stuff cleared up for people that still have questions about it, because in all honesty I'm kind of conufused now too. haha

sorry we are going by OVER ALL RMS WITH ANY AMPS IN THE VEHICLE!!!

Basically the way im seeing it, anywhere it states that your total power in your vehicle is over 1000 watts, whether it be 1 or 500 or more, you do not get in.

So if it states anywhere whether .5, 1, 2, 4, 8 ohms, no matter what impedence, if its over 1000 rated power from manufacturer, you can NOT, enter this month!

So someone running a 1 ohm stable amp at 4 ohms, but rated power at 1 ohm is over 1000 watts you dont qualify, because your amp has the potential of being over 1000 watts!

I hope that helps clarify!

Ok. I think that clears up almost everything from what I can tell the misunderstandings are.

But are the rules going by RMS or rated power.

IE: The Kenwood KAC-9104D 1800 watt amp.

It says it is 1800 watts but RMS at MOST is around 1000 watts. (KAC-9104D)

So what do you go by?

Just trying to help clear things up for people.

Kenwood 9104 says 1800 watts MAX but its RMS is ~900-1000 so it passes

Im not sure why this SOTM was so difficult to comprehend! If youre over 1000 watts anywhere, whether reading it on the box or amp(s) or whatever, dont waste your time!

For those saying a 4ch wont get high powered or actual wattage is only 60x4! That's at 4ohms, what about 2 ohms or running the amp bridged? I have a Massive Audio 400.4, for my fiance's build! It's rated @ 100x4 @ 4 ohms, 200x4 @ 2ohms, and 400x2 bridged, I do believe that makes it an 800 watt rms amp, correct? So a 60x4 @ 4 ohms is 120x4 @ 2 ohms, 240 x 2 bridged, thats 480 watts rms, correct? So why say I'm only running 4ohms, knowing that rules state max power of amplifier! LOWEST OHM LOAD or HIGHEST RATED POWER!

My build is still ongoing like most peoples! But I didnt enter that setup, I entered what my system consist of right now, my Zapco amp which at 4ohms bridged is 1000 watts and my sub! If they feel that I am not in the running so be it, I will wait till I have it finished then re-enter again! NOT A BIG DEAL! So dont make it one!
