nCOMP1337 Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 They would be fine that low. I've had mine at 30 and 35. 35 is way louder and still gets plenty low in my setup EDIT: had them at 38 too 35 still being loudest did that have anything to do with cabin peak was it louder to ear or TL just curious
STEvil Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 just make the port adjustable then you can tune to whatever you want MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.

I think these subs optimal output in a daily setup is between 33-35 in my experience with different boxes. Im sure it would be different with a vehicle that has a lower or higer peak then mine 6 Sundown X 15s 2 Sundown NS1 V2s C Pillar 4th order Bagged Suburban on 24s http://youtube.com/tlee333
nCOMP1337 Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 nice, i can see why they would sounded louder closer to their Fs
SenorPeligro Posted June 6, 2011 Author Report Posted June 6, 2011 If I opened the port up 1/2" taller I could get 30 hz. I think that's the route I'll go.
korey_hofer Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 tuning that low is pointless also imo. mid 30's would sound much better for daily music. exactly any real designer knows this and just sits back and laughs at all the people who can't play real music previously known as wenn_du_weinst aka fucking internet coward supreme. I talk shit on other forums like a little bitch and hope i don't get caught out on the street.
BigPimpin91 Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Tons of factors. My old 3kw AQ set-up peaked @ 33 being tuned to 35. On 6kw with a different box, 42hz tuned @ 39. And 26hz being tuned @ 28. My current daily tuning is 28hz and I can play anything from 23-45hz pretty efficiently. BigPimpin91's Banging Music
Autruche Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 I'm doing 28 in my car. Was going to do 25, but I figure I'll be able to pick up the notes down to low 20s fine with 28Hz tuning. IDK, I just love the real low notes. Musically you'd probably be happiest between 32 and 36. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? RAM_Designs Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Depends on the sub. Some with thrive with a low tuning like that, while others will roll of much quicker on the high side and leave you with a gap between your subs and mids...it really is install dependent though. I just threw an old RE10 in 1.5ft^3 at 28hz and it can extend upward just fine, where some other woofers in the same box tend to die around 60hz(some more than others, but you get the point). Seriously give it a shot. Get you some low inductance drivers and tune at say 26 or 27 with a smaller amount of port area and see what it sounds like, and I kind tell you this... its not peaky down low and still plays 60hz range just as loud as it plays low to mid 20s. Very nice flat response and wide! But I guess thats not what a real designer would do and just laugh at it! 2007 Chevy HHR LT UNDER CONSTRUCTION 1st Place Loud N Low 2010 MWSPL Finals 3rd Place Xtreme 3 2010 MWSPL Finals
