I'm not sure why we only kerfed one side of the port to be honest lol We used a wood that was capable of bending. The right port wall has no angles in it, it makes a semicircle U-turn and then straight for the rest of the length. All I know is that it worked, and this subwoofer sounds better than I ever thought it could. And for what it is and where it's located, the results surprised me! In my honest opinion, one kerfed side is like a half flared aero-port.lol, but as long it works!...so its not kerfed by cutting slits? I made a box once with bondo shaped like a semi-circle on every corner instead of 45*s...like PTS says: "A woofer only sounds as good as the enclosure it's in"!
