Pretty accurate stock. But my 597 I'd take over it any day. The 10/22 is like the most customizable gun. I know several people with 1000$ + 10/22s. Locally you can get one on sale for 170$. Only problem I had with the 10/22 was it didn't always cycle with sub sonic rounds, which I found very effective for pest control out to 100 yds. Plus kept noise down alot. Not sure on the laws, but if youcan get an sks, it's damn near identical, performance wise to an ak. Very similar operating too but easier sighting, imo.
