I just asked rusty about this and he said he would not recommend running the 175.4 under 2 ohms. He said the 4 channel does run a little warm and dropping lower than 2 ohms could cause it to heat up and do funky things.

4 channels are like strapped amps. So if you have a 2 ohm load you have 2 1 ohm loads. So if you got to 1.34 ohms each amps would be like at .625~ ohms thats low!

Also I run mine at 2.3 - 2.6. Can't remember exactly but, if i had a place for 4 more speakers I would do 1 ohm per channel.

Its how they work, think the AP3000 something, its just 2 of there 1500's in one. They can only be ran at 2 ohms why? Because each amp is getting 1 ohm...So pushing a 4 channel under 2 ohms is like pushing a mono under 1 ohm.

the channels arent internally strapped like those mono amps, there seperate

People like this shouldn't be able to post unless a mod allows them to. It would save everyone from breaking noses because of repetitive facepalming.
