Man, I wanted an Avalanche before I read this... Now I really want one bad!

Awesome work so far, and I love all the choices in equipment!

The only suggestion I have is maybe a little more bracing in the box. And I'd brace the port too. Overkill is your friend!

Anyway, keep up the good work, and keep the pics coming!

I'm anxious to see this thing get down! :clapping:

Thanks and I'm new to box bracing so that's why I only did the little I did. It's a learning process so I'm all ears. This is my 3 build and first ground up build with this much power. So I think so far I'm doing good.

I don't see that box holding up to 8k watts.... It's just not built strong enough. I've seen a basic box Luke that get ripped apart by two Fi Q's and no wear near the power you will have.

Also didn't know you cheaped out on the wire. Don't take this as talking shit but why buy DC Power alts then cheap out on the wire which is what is going to get the power of those alts to your amps...

Don't really understand why you say cheaped out on the wire. I'm under the impression that KnuKonceptz makes good wire and that going from CCA to OFC is not really worth it but at the time I purchased the wire I picked what I thought was best for what I was doing. So unless someone proves me wrong that there's a major difference in the wire then I think I made a good choice. As for the box that's why I post pictures of everything so people can comment and give some advise.Nobody said anything so I just went with what I had at my disposal.Hey I guess if it gets ripped to shits then I get to start over with more knowledge.

The resistance in the CCA wire is greater then the resistance in the OFC wire. There is a reason why the CCA wire is rated at 250 amps as opposed to 300 amps like the OFC is. Greater resistance means your going to need more of the CCA wire to match what the OFC would be able to handle. Meaning your voltage loss with a 20' run of CCA will be greater then your voltage loss to a 20' run of OFC.

As for you box, you need to brace the brace. Or double up on your baffles. I don't think your joints have enough fiberglass. The way your box is right now, it will flex and may even rip apart. 8k watts is a lot of power.... Your box and electrical are the most important part of your install (bass wise) so overkill them both... my 2cents...

Gotcha.I knew that it was a difference just not that much. After you said something I started looking around for the answer to what exactly the difference is.So I guess for now I will just have to run it just with an extra run to compensate for the loss until I replace it.For the box I will add more bracing and after I got power running to it,then if it still needs some more bracing or glass I will do it.I'm really in no rush.I have until at least May to finish before the season starts so that's plenty of time.Hell who knows may even replace the wire before then. Thanks for all the input.

Nice work man we just did a system for a buddy of mine but we ran 2 15s still hits pretty good but I need a way to cover the spaces it has to seal it off from the bed

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

Yeah I haven't gotten there yet but I have though about it.Maybe expanding foam and some cover panels will do the trick

no problem.

You said something about season.... If you plan to compete, flip the box over. Put the port on the driver side.

The the Shows in Italy start again around April and they have one just about every other week.Once I get everything done I plan on buying a TL to test some things out before I start buttoning up.Should be a fun season with that 1979 Caprice that Pat Stone just built for my friend. It should be shipping to Italy this week and get here around the time I get this thing finished.
