Real96SS
So I was thinking that for daily the level the system is at now is perfect but I'm wondering after sealing it off from the bed what kind of a gain I will hear or see. Also how much of a gain can I look to see by switching from the dual 2 to some dual 1's and running at .5 instead of the 1ohm I'm at right now? For the time being I'm going to try it out by strapping the 2 for competition. When it's all said and done I should be more than impressed with the finished product.Especially seeing how I did everything myself from the ground up.It's just something about building something with your own hands that really make it feel like yours. Real96SS
I haven't been doing much as of late. It's gotten really cold and I have just been lazy.I did get some new toys in the mail.I got my 4th battery last week and installed it.It's helping keep the voltage up in the mid 13's longer. Now I just need to go back and cut some wires a little shorter to make them look a little better then once I'm all done back there start to cover everything up with some panels. Then today I got my clamp meter and my battery terminals from Tool Maker.Tool Maker has come through both times i have used him and he always replies back in a timely manner and ship when he says. Will be using them again soon.Anyways here's a couple pics for you guys. Last battery installed and doing exactly what I thought it would.Keep the voltage in the mid 13's at full tilt longer Nice new things.Going to be clamping these amps soon to see what type of numbers their putting out Vehicle 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche(Co-Co) DNX9980HD 6 Team Fi 15's(King Edition) 3 DC 9k's 8 Nendo PWX 8's 4 Custom Steg 4" Super Tweeters 1 DC Audio 175.4 1 DC Audio 90.4 Rockford 360.3 3 DC Power 370xp Alts(Externally regulated) 21 D1600's 2 D4800's All SMD RCA's AudioTechnix Deadner Viper Alarm My YouTube- http://www.youtube.c...NG?feature=mhee Link to buildlog- http://www.stevemead...4-15s-2-dc-9ks/ Link to UBL- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/165059-ublkings-avalanchecoco-new-build-starting8-king-edition-15-team-fis-in-a-wallyes-a-wall/
bre2ts
Looking good bro, sealing it off should help increase your numbers by keeping more pressure in the cabin. Also running those subs at .5 on those amps maybe risky that's a lot of power for them. Real96SS
I wouldn't run these at .5 daily but I do have plans for shows that don't include these. This will stay my daily setup and the subs will change for shows.I like the way it sounds right now for daily and I know it can get louder so I'm loving it.I'm sure though that running good clean power to them at .5 though would be okay for short periods but not long periods of time.Either way if they blow you will be here to recone them LoL!!! Jaloosk
You are right my friend.I talked to Nick over at FI and he told me that its just the subs are loading differently on the port.I don't know if this will affect numbers or the sound but I have plans for another box in the near future. When you design your new box, center the port and put one sub on either side of it and both subs will unload evenly. "Cheap, good or fast. You can only pick two out of three." "Have money? Love story! No money? I'm sorry."
