TheNewbie
Nobody vacuum seals boxes; that would pull the woofers' motors into the gap. Done properly, boxes are air tight though and will wheeze a little when the subs are pressed in slowly. ^ this is what i was wondering. So noone ever does it. Thanks haha. ALPINE408
the foam surround on a sub is porse and will leak air and if ts a rubber surround and you did vacume seal a box it would suck the cone down and keep it stuck there like haveing your hand push the cone down then play it... it wouldnt work Have you ever had your woofers blown? CHEVY4X4BLAZER
Wonder what a 1000 watt 20 Hz signal would do to a sub in free vacuum. O_o
STEvil
the same as in free-air, make the cone move forward and backwards, although slightly easier due to less atmospheric content. MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
