Got pulled over for my stereo....

They'll go where they're safe for being asses instead of doing what they were hired to do in the first place; protect the people..

Of course, because they know when a robbery, murder, etc. is happening, right? It's funny how everyone says the same thing and act like police should just let people do whatever they want unless it's murder or rape. If the cop is just patrolling and sees/hears something illegal then that is his job to pull them over, even if it is just a loud system.

And also, traffic stops are just as deadly as going to a crime in progress. They're walking up to an unknown car with a stranger in it who could possibly have a gun ready to shoot the second they step up. I wouldn't classify that as being safe.

True to an extent...I don't mean to start a pissing match either, but I got a few cop friends & a few more studying to become some & you wouldn't believe the shit that goes on behind that badge..bunch of wimps if you ask me...just the way I see it..

I had been driving around and as I went home I turned off the radio like I always would before getting close to home and when I got back in the next day I forgot I didn't turn it down before I did that. So I turned it back on and BOOM went the music! A cop at the gas station heard it and got such a hard on to come get me that I think gas was still coming out of the nozzle when he put it up. He gave me a ticket and when I went to court the judge asked me what this loudspeaker charge was. Luckily I explained it and he dropped it.

lol. Not judging all in general, but a few..? One instance was when a friend and I saw these gangbangers insult & cuss at a cop & he just walked away, didn't even say a word...

ANYway, back on topic, I got pulled over in Long Beach for sounds, got a "ticket", & after waiting for a few hours at court, my name wasn't in the system..I guess it was just a warning, cop wasn't a b*tch either, pretty cool actually, so idk..

The cop was pretty much an arse too.... "except" that he only gave me a written warning ? Seemed kind of goofy to me. If he was going to go through the trouble, why wouldn't he just go on and write me up ?

The other weird thing, was that I saw him at a crossing intersection WAAAAY ahead of time, and turned my stereo down when I was probably still 250-300 feet away from him ! I swear, it seems more likely that he has probably seen my truck / heard my stereo a dozen X's before, when he was just too busy, or lazy to pull me over. Then this time, he saw me rolling with my windows down (just knowing what I was up to) and decided to give me some crap.

He also got me (put on the warning ticket) for a clear license plate cover. Glad he never walked to the front of my truck, and saw that I don't have a front plate at all ! Or, that he didn't mention my tinted glass..... or that I have a couple tires with close to illegal tread..... or... etc, etc. So many things he could have gotten me for.

Anyway, I pretty much kissed his ass, and made him feel all mighty and powerful.... and I did not get a ticket.

But if I'm not mistaken, that written warning will get tacked on to my name, so that next time, they know I've already been warned.... right ?

Wow, We only need the rear plate in GA. Rite when I spot a cop I turn my system down, parents would kill me if i got in trouble for my system!! At least you didnt get a ticket.

Hahaha, I knew you'd figure it out eventually. I agree with you though, rarely does getting into a pissing match with a cop work out well for you.

I got warned about my stereo in my 93 mustang about 8 years ago. I was waiting in a parking lot for my wife (girlfriend at the time) to come out of a store. I would say i was 40 to 50 yards away from the grocery store. Anyways, I was listening to a symphony on the radio, I don't know what one, but the damn thing was rocking. I hear a knock on my window that scared the shit out of me. It was a cop. He said turn it down your shaking everything in the store. I said yes sir.

The stereo was clarion dxz-615 head unit, a clarion digital processor. two 2.6x rockford amps on mid and highs, and a 500a2 rockford that powered two jl 12w3's in a sealed box.
