Yes I cut the metal, not a lot of it, because the 6x9's were previously there. The top deck honestly isn't held down by much, I used the great stuff almost all through out the deck (after relocating a few modules) and the seats press against the front lip holding it in place. I had plans to do more, like running a hug bolt through it or something, but that thing is not moving. I also resined the foam to try an better create a sealed gap between the deck and box.
