Crazy alt setup. 16 400 amp alts on 1 van

Look at the picture of the undercarriage, nothing is even attached to the drive shaft. Which just baffles me...

x2 I was thinking the same thing. It probably is connected to something up closer to the engine... and not actually ran off the driveshaft. if somehow they connected it to the flywheel or something it would allow it to charge all the time.

You can't connect it to the drive shaft for many reasons. Drive shaft isn't always spinning and when it does, it's at different speeds.

If I had to put money on it. I would say he's disengaging the driveshaft from rear axle and still running the vehicle in drive to keep charging. But that's my opinion.
