Stetsom 14K2D and DC Audio Level 5 18's

Recommended Posts

So I'm really trying to do it big this year. I allready have 2 DC Audio Level 5 18's with D2 coils. I currently have a Stetsom 14K2d modded 18volt 2 OHM model and am running everything at 2 ohm on the 2 subs. Everything is awesome right now. So i thought i would step htings up a notch and bought another Stetsom 14K2d modded 18 volt 2OHM model with intentions of running 1 amp per sub. SO long story short ill have to wire the subs down to 1 OHM per subs on each 2 OHM version amp. Is this going to be a problem with the modded amps. I got some $$ in this setup and just want to make sure the amps can handle everything @ 1 OHM even though they are 2 OHM models. I dont have the room to buy 2 more Level 5 18's D2's and stuff them in the extended cab of my truck. Im looking to talk to some people that have done some serious testing on these amps and has worked with high end equip for a while.

Just recone the subs. Its cheaper than risking blowing the amps

And a 14k to each? Holy hell...

Ok I have no knowledge of systems once they get to something of this magnitude but just out of curiosity is this going to be a burp only trick or something that will be for music in a daily situation? Prolly a stupid question but just want to find out either way mad props because that will be one hell of a set up.

its a musical set-up.

josh are those 14k's strap-able? if so just strap the two and run your woofers at 4 ohms if possible.

Start out boxy, shape as you move along.

If you are running a system this big, you should be able to Sum things up yourself.

Especially with that money you put into everything.

I would go the route snowdrifter is talkin about.

And I would go below 2 ohm on the amps that are rated at 2.

Things will melt.
