This is one of those cases where if you have to ask, then maybe you shouldn't. I have run twice, triple, even 4x the rated power. And yes, I have blown more equipment than a hooker with $20. That being said, I did it knowing I was risking it, and learned everything I know now first hand.

If you have to ask, just don't. Or just do it and share your results.

2.5" coil, 1200 should be max power, but who even looks at that really???

I wouldn't give the Obsidian 1700 watts. Im giving my oa15 about 1200 and it seems to take it well but I used a dd1 to set my gains and i built the box for that power and I watch my voltage. But it does get smelly after playing for a long period of time on certain songs.

Ok...not saying I was going to put 1700 on it regardless...this why I asked...looks like 1200 is even a reach...1000w maybe the max to consider..

Fmedina...how are they holding up? You think they will take a beating for awhile?...not 1700w beating but like 850-1000w daily

i have one 15 but its holing pretty good. just careful playing at full tilt for long cuz they will get smelly and if not cautious they will eventually blow.
