Does anyone make subwoofers in the USA still?

Looking at the Sundown pre-order thread got me to wondering if anyone uses US based manufacturing facilities for speakers or subwoofers anymore? Also wondering how much more it would cost if they did?

AA/FI Audio tool a lot if not all of the parts that go into them. To the OP I guess a better question would be who still builds subs in the USA with american made parts?

A lot of these companies listed above use parts that come from asia.

Almost no woofer company is 100% USA made or built.

The closest company would be FI/AA/SSA/Crossfire, and probably Digital Designs

At the end of the day, their are still parts coming from China, such as mass produced baskets for almost EVERY company (not including the TI style baskets found on T3 TSNS, FI SP4, AA SMD, TC Sounds LMS Ultra), and some neo & ferrite.

Most the companies listed have the voice coils wound here in the USA however.

I knew there were companies assembling speakers/subs here. I should have worded my question better as I was referring to actually making all or most of the parts here. Seems like there's been quite a few instances where the Chinese manufacturers have sold the parts to competitors that sell knock offs. From what I've read there's no recourse aside from choosing a different company to work with. Just wonder if it wouldn't be more beneficial to make most everything here?

I find it fascinating people get all caught up in the "made in america" idea. If you only knew that we trail in almost every aspect of life to other countries. Technologically we are very far behind some countries, and just because something is manufactured outside of the states does not make it of poor quality.
