Rebel4055
I cover all my connections with electrical tape afterwards. I don't see the point of making a crimp look pretty. And as you can tell by the video, it kept it pretty round. Rest In Peace mother. SnowDrifter
I hate to bump this thread, but I cut open one of the crimp that I made and here is what it looked like: I used the 16 ton crimper that Decaf suggested , 1/0 OFC welding cable, tinned copper lugs, and a 35sqmm die Even looking at it as close as I can, there is no differentiation between individual strands or the casing of the lug. It looks and feels like one solid chunk of copper ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
01ExSport
I'll be sure to post up pics of how the 8-ton version i have crimps when i get around to it. Got mine from seller wegotparts on ebay. ^^ Btw, that's really sweet how your dies imprint the size on your crimp, in case you'd ever forget what size you used =p
Decaf
Glad I persuaded you Snow... looks great! You can crimp 2-3 times to make the entire lug crimped, 2nd/3rd time is much easier as well.

SnowDrifter
is that the largest size dies? Not by a long shot Left - The smallest die that comes with the 16 ton kit. Works great for 4 gauge Middle - The die I use for crimping 0 gauge Right - The largest one. Good for crimping 600MCM cable. I'll be damned if any of you use that for car audio The kit also has everything in between ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
