dog24fret
First off Thanks Steve for great products I love them. They have allot of quality and pride built into them which is so quickly being lost.I really love the hard plastic battery connector. Instead of the soft backed connectors that will break either the wires or solder joints. Then I went inside to look at the board and looked at the solder joints and wire connections and they are solid shouldn't have any breakage or burn outs. I really hope this don't tick Steve or the crew that helped with the design and build.I actually do this with all of my stuff amps, radios, guitars etc.The wife says I'm anal that way. I have a friend who works at a local shop who wanted to see them when I got them in.After I went through all my stuff and a few friends installs it made a big difference.I took them to him at the shop he tested his stuff and seen that they where off.So he went in and finished three set ups in less time it took to do one. Then the shop foreman if you will was pissed that he used Smd stuff instead of the shop oscope. The shop foreman thinks Steve is a joke who don't know what a real install is.Also doesn't even care about the noobs in the audio world. He is a top of the class install grad who is better than everyone else and his crap don't stink.Absolutely nothing against install grads at all.So needless to say he went through the systems that were set with the DD/CC-1 and was surprised that they were dead on and better than what he sets them at.Who knew that would happen LOL.So his opinion has changed from doesn't want to hear about SMD at the shop. To checking out the vids and ordering the DD/CC-1s for the shop.I liked his comment he said to me before I left "I've been reminded that not all great stuff has to be in a install bay.Or be a brand name that has been used for years.Sometimes new stuff can be better than big names as the case with these tools." 6 Quote Cowboy Escort GrAnny ThUmper The Burp

sprkn_ranger
Good review man! Even though he was a hater before, he was man enough to have an open mind to SMD and change his thoughts about Steve. dog24fret
Yes I said anal my son and daughter remind me often that some of the things I use to say wasn't setting a good example for them.Yes sir it's cool he kept a opened mind when it's so easy to keep a closed mind to new things which all of us at one point or another have done it.I was hoping what I said about the DD/CC-1 and the design team gave them credit.Good, long lasting products are hard to find anymore.Plus some laughter to boot. dog24fret
Decided to go through all the settings for the DD-1.Really could see and hear the difference at each setting then back to where I set it first time. Each time was exactly the same without a hiccup in the time it would take to do one.I love these things I just wish they came 20 years sooner LOL. dog24fret
I figured that instead of making a new post I would just follow up on this post.I've gone a little nuts with the DD/CC-1 tools.I have used them on 8 different laptops and desktop computers. To see where the built in amps would distort and what the actual frequency they put out.My aspire will Hz but the stock speaker will barely do Hz.Custom speaker system for the laptop would be funner than buying store bought. Then I hooked them up to 6 different TVs and I was shock how little volume they put out cleanly.I used them on a friends pioneer home sound system. It really made a difference which my friend fell in love with the DD/CC-1.He personally really like the analog set up for the DD and was shock how well the CC worked considering the size of them. The cool part of this is he is a NASA rocket scientist and has help with design the guidance systems for shuttles and missiles. Then I decided to hook up the DD to my Marshall guitar tube amp head to see where it started to distort.Although it is made to at high volumes just wanted to see. Then went through my other Marshalls to see how far it stays clean and was disappointed on my solid state stack. It doesn't go as far as it is suppose to cleanly.I also hooked the DD up to my Peavy amps. Then to my Ipad and found that my Ipad will not go to full volume undistorted.Like it automatically dose when I hook it up to my stereo that came as a little shock to me.So I may have gone overboard but it's been quite fun.
