What happened to JBL and Jensen items

And I was running a Jensen amp before that!

It was actually a pretty decent amp back then . I didn't even know they were still in business.

Lol this is similar to what people "say" about Hifonics...especially the HFI series...sure they may not output the full 2k rms they say they do, but they have good sound quality to them for being $200 and less...

correct, it's user dependant to extents, if they feel they are supplied with enough power for what they are paying, they by all means need to do what they want. It's their system regardless of anyone. The user/owner needs to be happy.

People seem to take a lot of offence on here over it though lol. I doubt i'll look back at this thread anymore as it's full of argument and validation of comments rather than just answering your question and I for one am sorry for that.

Oh I got my answer a while back. See I base my opinions off of the guys/gals on this forums. I was just wondering what peoples opinions on them, since I haven't heard about them in a while.

walmart usually carries 1-2 models of jensen 6-7" screen cd players. My local one has had the same one for sale since 09' I believe and most people with screens out here in the car clubs actually all run it. To each their own.

Those of you who are putting down Jensen, have you actually used any of their equipment? I doubt it, or you'd know its decent budget-level stuff. Sure its not DC/Sundown/Pioneer level stuff, but neither is the price. Its not the greatest available, but if you're on a tight budget, you could do a lot worse.

I think a lot of people here would consider Jensen in the same level of gear as Boss, Pyramid, Legacy, Dual, Soundstorm, etc. From what I've seen of Jensen's stuff over the past few years, the HU's and subs are iffy at best, but their amps are decent... atleast mine has been.

Laugh all you want. It's not like I was being defensive, just stating my experience. I woudn't buy another Jensen... I'll spend more dough on something a lot better. But like another guy said, you can do a lot worse for the money.

JBL was and still is really good stuff. Sure, they have a low end line- but MANY SQ champions have used JBL.

There's a blown BP1200.1 on the wall in my shop right now. Was a strong amp for sure. Saw a few on CACO for sale a few weeks back and almost bought one just to say I had a working one.

I am currently using the jvc kw-avx640. I like it. It has a detachable 6" touchscreen, iPod controls, 4volt sub out, te only problem is it loads a little slow. I also had one of the first model JVC el kameleon decks and I love them.
