or shave down the outside edges of the 2 pairs of speakers then shave down the speaker ring of the single and fit 5 across the bottom?

8 is easier to wire than 10.

For me, it also depends on what's going in and what's the substage consist of.

But like stated, 4 per door looks better and is easier to wire.
