ya the reason it took 3 trys and killed my batts doin it was due to CD's skipping.....me calling out 911 for someone to give me the same disc, gettin one, and it still skipping totally ruining my score.  It only takes 2 seconds of silence to go from 157 to 152 and a solid 3 or 4 seconds from a skipping cd can make that 157 into a 145 REAL QUICK.  My Avic has always been a good deck when it came to skipping but between my new amps and my new subs, my beat is louder then ever and you can only ask so much from a deck.  This is why i run Ipod, but Ipod isnt legal in any organization.......oh well....like i said, i could care less these days about the organizations i just want my shit pounding and really the only way i can do it at this point is with Mp3 of some sort (on a hard drive like an ipod/or memory card like my psp)

i dunno, some cars just dont meter good.  I cracked my windshiled when the Rockfords were in the trunk and the highest that car ever metered on the termlab at a show was 146 dash, 147 floor.  That was at 31hz though

ok this has me concerned so i gotta ask.

I just picked up a new deck despite NOTHING bein wrong with my old one other than the skipping at high volume which i have attributed to the vibrations since it will do it on a brand new cd but only at 145db+ (my indash AC mic not TL).

My idea was to run the iPod adapter cable to an iPod and use mp3's like you were talkin about and avoid the skippage that has cost me scores in the past.

So i guess my real question is if anyone knows why is iPod not legal and in WHICH ORG'S? like IASCA,USACi, DB Drag, Battle of The Bass, etc?

EXACTLY what he said ^^^ but you know what, the CD is going the way of the 8 track IMO so they better figure out a way soon to get harddrive/chip/memorystick Mp3 media involved.
