I agree with going with Obsidians over the Kickers. Just by looking at Obsidians, their build quality is much better, and they have such a great price. I own a Kicker CVR12, and its build quality is terrible, the basket is made of thin metal, and the magnet is tiny when you remove the black rubber cover.

Still, you wouldn't have regretted it as you don't have anything to compare your possible Kicker setup. But as someone who has run both, I would take the Obsidian/Sundown/Skar over any Kicker every day of the week. But I hate telling other people what something is going to sound like. It's looked describing a color you've never seen before. And the outcome can be affected by a lot of things: build, user error, power, build quality, design, vehicle...so just because better equipment is purchased doesn't mean you're going to have a better outcome.
