Power Wire From Battery MELTED Into

I will sand the paint down. I will be installing my two older type R's at 1000 RMS. Will I need bigger wire? I will have to replace the wire anyways because it melted, but do I need to get a bigger gauge?

that ground doesn't look very good imo , and then with how cars are made with uni-body construction it could actually be a worse ground than it looks , body and structure parts being glued and spot welded . shock tower has been my first choice for grounding or seat mount bolts sometimes

Sand your grounding point down to bare metal and secure the ground to the chassis using a nut and bolt.

So yeah some true 4 gauge with a better ground. Are you changing the amp as well?

As far as getting larger wire, what size amp are you going to run them with?

I think I'm gonna get this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_43128_Hifonics-GLX1000.1D-1000W-RMS-Class-D-Monoblock-Gladiator-Series-Amplifier.html and wire my alpines to 1 ohm. Is this a decent amp?

even though its over kill use 0 awg wire and you will have the wire ran for any up grades later on ....

and that ground is a joke did a car audio place install with 2 self tapers ... if so take it back and show the owner .. the owner might not know the installer doesnt have a clue on how to do the grounds correctly
