Rockbrook
Since i dont have Fold Down seats i was thinking of cutting out this hole in my rear-deck to let more bass into the cabin, anyone ever did anything similar? how did it turn out? Here's pics of what im talking about cutting. Right in the center.
will77530
why not build a box and port through rear deck instead of just cutting a hole?
Rockbrook
Cause i just got this box built a couple months ago Plus i dont have the skills to build a box like that right now myself...Basically im just wondering if cutting the hole would let more bass in the cabin therefore making it sound a lil louder and a lil more violent in the cabin? poorfish88
Port into the cabin is the way to go. Cuttin a hole is not going to do much.
99vic
i cut out the rear deck in my last crown vic. it helped in my car . i didnt brace before i cut it. later a few people mentioned i had a lot more body roll. im not sure if that was the reason but i never had that problem before. sprkn_ranger
In theroy, yes it would, but its imopssible to say how much for sure. Try it out and see, worst case scenario, you have to build a box that you can port through the rear deck in the future Check out my build log! 4 Havocs in a blowthrough http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/187506-sprkn-rangers-blowthrough-build/
Rockbrook
Cool, That part im thinking about cutting isnt much more than insulation and fabric for the most part, that space is usually just used for the Factory Bose amps that come in some of the higher trim level Impalas', mine doesnt have bose so its basically just open space right there, I dont think i should have the problem with body roll. You guys rock . I'm gonna do it tomorrow

Autruche
If you cut the hole through the deck, put some mesh fabric over it to keep it looking good. Something like this: I believe that was from Kandiman71874's Kia build. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves?
