It was "properly" installed, and by an authorized shop. it is relevant. if it was done by a Ford it would be much easier. Ford really doesnt know what the installer did and will blame it for the mechanical failure.. tuning/flashing the ecm voids warranty on the powertrain..You are correct fella. When it comes to mods on the mustang to be covered under warranty ford uses Ford Racing parts just like toyota has TRD, and it has to be installed by the ford dealer to be covered under warranty. It will be a losing battle real quick especially when they take a look under the hood and see parts not offered through ford racing and not installed by an actual Ford dealer. U can't go to a random shop have them add on parts give it a new tune and then think it's going to be covered under warranty... Soon as they see it's been tuned it's game over lol Sometimes IF u get lucky and have some cool fellas you are dealing they may... turn a cheek but that's pretty rare especially if it's going to be something expensive to fix. Ford got really crazy when the new 5.0 came out and issued a new TSB specifically saying if the owner mods the car warranty is void There is NO warrantee for ANY ford racing part installed in a Ford. Weather the dealership installed them or not Ford racing parts warrantee come only thru the person who sells them. So summit would cover there own ass just like jegs etc.... buy it's all on their own dollar ford racing will never ever deal out a warrantee. It's called go buy a new one. Remember they circled the problem..... Its worth it to know and fix the right thing. Going tomorrow after work. Now the legal stuff. It is a federal law that they cannot void the warranty because of the installed parts, including the PCM flash, as its part of the aftermarket install. However, they can void it if they can prove the parts caused the damage, though. BUT, they have to prove it. They just can't say. "yep its because of the supercharger." They must have facts, and the case could go to court. I got all the info I could off the Federal Trade Commission website. Fingers crossed. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

Im also currently messaging KB back and forth right now, and the tech is very insistent that the plugs are gapped wrong, and causing the car to miss and run bad. He told me these motors eat up spark plugs even stock, and need to be changed quite often to maintain performance. Told me to change the plugs and gap them down a couple points before doing anything else. Wish he would have told me that before I dropped the car off. Is what it is. He might throw a fit about the DC alt...but that's it. His techs have did a few KB installs under his supervision. It'll be pretty fucking gay on the dealers part if its a elongated or broken valve and they won't warranty it. There is NO way at all to prove that the S/C caused that. The truck we just fixed and sold(literally, 10 minutes ago) was a a 120 mile a day commuter. 4.6 2v, 4r100, K&N Intake, and a Diablo Predator tuner with a 91 Econ tune. No boost, no fancy shit, BONE fucking stock. Elongated an intake valve by 3-4mm or so...shitty fuel consumption. Misfire/uneven idle. BUT it drove fine at speed. Failed because a spark plug blew out. Shit just happens some times. Really isn't any way to prove the KB caused a spark plug to blow out or a valve to crack.
