So i was working 6 hours over my normal 12 hour shift yesterday and happened to be outside on the back deck of our dredge when i start hearing alarms bells and look up to see this

Our dredge is about 440 feet long, this thing was easily 200 feet longer and as you can see 80 feet higher. If you look on top of the big white wing in the second pic you can see two men looking down. This thing was less than 6 feet from hitting us! These were the only pics i could get before we had to man emergencie stations. Just thought i'd share my close call with you all

It had everyone a little worried. It actually hit one of our anchor barges and broke a few steel cables. Thankfully no one was hurt, they never even slowed down or radioed to see if everyone was ok, just kept right on moving

It happens alot actually. Not quite that close, but they just dont really care whos in their path. It takes them about 15-20 mins of full reverse throttle to stop so even in the event of something happening they dont even bother to try to slow down
