Different counties are easier. LA country is 99% no to ever having one unless you are a Officer or do something that puts your life at risk everyday and can prove it. Other counties like San Bernardino(where I'm at) are alot easier....but still require a "reason". Its possible in California...just depends on the county. Im in San Bernardino county and my stepdad, who goes to re-up his when required says its kinda scary the people that are allowed to have a Concealed permit. Im planning on getting mine soon. In Indiana you can apply for your CCW at 18, you can apply online or on paper at your closest level of LE (rural = sheriff's dept, city = city police), when applying online you can pay to have your permit expedited ($10) and then you schedule an appt at a participating digital fingerprint operation. Doing it that way takes about three weeks to receive it. The other way is to do ink prints and it takes 4-6 weeks to process plus time to mail it. Total cost for expedited lifetime is $75 (state fee) + $50 (local fee) + $10 (expedition fee) = $135 total. Only thing that sucks is it is literally just a piece of paper so lamination is a 100% must. Although im with Hugh G Rection in the fact that i think its BS we have to pay for a liscense to conceal a weapon when we already have a right to bear arms as it is lol... But anywho... As previously stated.. The fact i have a CCW has kept me from getting a few tickets because when i had my encounters with the LEO's i showed them all my credentials... They asked where it was and told me to keep my hands on wheel...
