meade916
Today, somehow, i picked up the Skurvy. All i did was take the 8gig USB out of my "AR Drone" after flying it around the shop. I removed it, put it in my comp, and all the sudden all of my files were shown as shortcuts. The real file was not accessable and guess what happens if you click on one of the shortcuts, feverishly trying to get it to open? yup, it infects that computer too. I had it on a 3rd pc at the shop before i realized i might have a virus. I put another portable hard drive in my comp to see if it would show up normal because it seemed only external hard drives were affected. Well guess what, it got on that drive too. I brought it home and put it on my gaming PC because i still wasn't sure what was going on.....since all other files appear normal (computer itself doesn't "act" infected or have extra short cuts). Anyhow, i think i gave 4 of my own PC's the skurvy lol. I researched it for HOURS and tried everything i could read about including inputing code in the CMD prompt, which worked but came right back. I did everything else i could possibly do including downloading and PAYING for Malware bytes (one of my favorites) and it didnt work. I tried downloading some crazy indonesian anti virus program that i couldn't even read the instructions other then what looked like an "install button" (it was green ). It WORKED! Until i took the USB out and put it back in......it was back GRRRRRRR. I even formated the friggin' thumbdrive to its core!! It came back. So i try a program that i always heard was good but never pulled the trigger on it. I bought Kaspersky. My troubles are now officially over. This antivirus program kicks ass!! all my drives are clean and the viruses that weren't JUST on the thumbdrive but also on my PC's (hidden), is now gone. Best $54.00 i ever spent and i can put it on 3 computers. I will probably buy 3 more licences for the other pc's around the house just in case. i just wanted to share my story, i know, cool story bro. But hey, if you ever sat in front of a PC for hours PISSED and FRUSTRATED, its like smoking crack when you finally conquer the problem. http://www.kaspersky.com I RECOMMEND THIS! ^^^^^^ (FOR THE RECORD I AM NOT BLAMING THE AR-DRONE FOR THE VIRUS, I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT CAME FROM) Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! alaskanzx5
from what i was told is that kaspersky was created by one of the makers of norton and that he ( kaspersky) decided to make his own program because he didnt like how norton could/would slow computers performance down. the program is suppose to be just as good or better then norton and not slow it down. i have it, waiting for another month for my free norton to end then im putting the kasperky on the computer. Jessica
I almost got a virus from CNET of all places today. Lucky for me AVAST saw and nabbed it before i could even open the file. What were you using before going to this one? 1 Quote Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work. Sheena
a few of my clients have gotten this issue as well super anti spyware quick scan, critical scan, complete scan. malwarebytes complete scan. ccleaner clean all cookies and registry errors. disable unknown startup programs with ccleaner. and theres a registry fix on the internet that fixes all shortcuts and issues after you get the virus removed. (all of this should be done from safe mode with networking) this is actually a reallllly fun virus to get rid of. takes several hours of scanning (depending on how bad the clients computer is) and its more challenging than most viruses. although i will admit kaspersky is pretty advanced and offers a lot of features for people who know how to use them, compared to the competition kaspersky probably offers the most customization and options out there. TRTC360
when my dad bought his dell desktop computer from best buy they gave him the option for 4 different anti-viruses, one was norton, one was kaspersky, and I forget the other 2, anyhow they told us kaspersky was the best out of the 4 and i'm glad we went with it, computer runs super smooth, not a single virus yet.
