but how the heck does that work. I know nothing about the Cadence a7hc. But 80amp fuse 14.4volts = 11xx. What am i missing....? lol

i honestly dont know. I know that amp is said to be like 96% efficient, other then that I believe the HC stands for high current. Thats why I pointed out that this is a rare exception and not the norm.... You can google this amp and find info on it, including clamped #s

2 of my amps are rated at 2500 rms @.75 ohm and they call for 300 amp fuses, I just use whatever the manufacturer tells me to use.

The simple answer is fuses don't pop when they reach their rated current. Fuses will last a while (some more than others) depending on how much more current and how fast the current rises. The amperage rating on a fuse is not a hard limit, so it is possible to get more out of an amp than what the fuses say. However, for pretty much anything other than burp type situations, using the fuse rating is a very accurate way to predict the limit of the wattage the amp can produce.
