Carbon Fiber Box, NEW AMP RACK PICS ADDED, Page 13!!!

Recommended Posts

Ok, go it measured with an Audiocontrol. I realize it's not a termlab, but it's something. At the dash, all doors closed, windows up on a test tone it scored a 146.7! I'm pleased with that. My goal was 145 or better. That is all stock electrical and my volt gauge was sitting at about 10.5-ish. Couldn't keep up. Should do quite a bit better with a new Alt, dual batteries and a second Fosgate T1500 amp. I'll be shooting for the magical 150 after all that is done. BTW, is sounds INCREDIBLE!!

Looks ok, but you should do the work to make the sides that are seen perfect. I've always wanted a cf box and still do. I like the way this came out. Are you gonna do matching door pods? That would be sick.

this looks pretty cool, are you going to bring this to any local shows? I would love to see it in person

I wouldn't mind hitting up a show or two before winter. When's the next one and where? As long as it doesn't conflict with the Seahawks schedule I can probably make it. Heck, I might even enter to compete, since anything better than last place would be a victory for me.

Nice!

It's on a Fosgate T1500bdCP that crippled my charging system down to about 10.5 volts. Sorta glad now that I got the 1500 instead of the 2500.

I will eventually. I was really just itching to hear this thing and have a few other projects that need attention. Honestly, I love this thing. I could think of about 20 different things I wanna do to it to make it better, but then I wouldn't get to hear it until December! It'll have to stay as-is for a little while, flaws and all. Funny thing is, my wife saw it and heard it for the first time today. All she did was point out every cosmetic flaw in it and told me I could have done a better job than that as if she was scolding me....lol

Ooh, also I forgot to mention, there is not one piece of aftermarket dampening material on the vehicle. I was honestly expecting the truck to rattle like a mother fucker, but it really doesn't. I mean there is a small amount of rattle you can hear from outside with it all sealed up, but it isn't anything like I expected. Gotta love them Cadillacs!

Also forgot to add...the test tone that registered the highest SPL of 146.7 was 22hz!!!

Well, the box is finally in the truck. I'll be honest, I'm not 100% happy with the finish on the box, especially after seeing it in the sunlight. But it is what it is. If I feel like making it nicer later, I may. I have other projects now starting to pile up and I need to get to them soon so I'm not buried for the next two months. Subs are just resting in the box. Needed to test fit to see where I drill holes for the wire and the inserts.

Now that I see the box in the truck, I think I am going to build an amp rack to the rear of it on the floor so that all of the rear carpet is covered. That too will be MDF fully wrapped in CF!! Stay tuned!
