jfoodstamp
Ok as many of you guys know I am in the middle of a build with my caprice. I have 4k of power and around 6 cubes net and I am trying to determine what to do next. I am trying to see if their is a mathmatical way to do this part of system design. Correct me if I am wrong but Motor Strength is expressed in BL So I am hoping by giving three scenario's you will be able to help me understand better Set up 1: 2 15" Subwoofers with a BL of 22.73 with a RMS of 2200 each Set Up 2: 4 12" Subwoofers with a BL of 17.2 with a RMS of 900 each Set up 3: 4 12" Subwoofers with a BL of 24 with a RMS of 600 each Which one would you do and why? 412 CVX
I think Xmax figures come into play here too. Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid. bkolfo4
If you start looking, there are quite a few t/s parameters. . . Get a free program (something as simple as the spreadsheet on DIYSUBWOOFERS.ORG and model up the two drivers. You can look at optimum enclosures, compare performance of each sub in the same box, etc. Brian Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz. Skullz
Found quite a lot of information on speakers while looking for xbl motor technology and how it works, maybe you might want to look into that also for a source of information to learn from. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
john253a
Don't rule out 8" here, Idd do 4x 12" just from cone alone But 12x 8" in the same net have have 600"sq v's 450, And depending in amp, strap another 4000 too it latter and call it a day, I still think 12x 8" on 333rms each will be be louder then any other set up in 6net Then if you strap 670 each will show them some real life But $$$ come into everything
