Type RF Posted September 8, 2012 Author Report Share Posted September 8, 2012 After resining the console lid I used filler to smooth out the hard line in it and got it ready for vinyl. wrapping this console lid was more of a pain than I thought. I have almost two hours in just upholstering this thing. This is the plate that sinks in the console lid to mount the push buttons. In the top of this lid is three buttons. Track+, Track- and Source. These are simple momentary buttons that I hooked to a steering wheel control interface. By using different resistors on each button I programmed the interface to each button and also programmed combo buttons to do functions as well. The buttons are some generic buttons I found but they came apart so I cust out small paper logos and put them inside. The buttons are backlit at night. Wires and lights inside the console lid, glued in place everywhere (just in case) Wires going through the lid into the console. Finished console lid. These VU meters or awesome in action! The voltage guage in this picture is a temporary situation. This console was specifically built for the VM-1. Sorry Stinger, your time has come. Finally got some seats that don't look horrible in pictures! There is a USB port for tuning the 3Sixty.3, a 12volt outlight and a snug fitting iphone location. Everything in this console lights up!
