All of a sudden amp go's into protect..........WHY!!!!!

whats your bass boost set to? its not too uncommon to have bass boost cranked without clipping. but keep in mind for every 3db you increase the bass boost knob your amplifier draws double the power, which could cause it to trip the protection circuit due to over amperage.

also how is your amplifier mounted? any chance it is building up heat? (like possibly installed upside down)

not sure if serious. but bad advice anyways.

since your soo good why post questions on the forum?

did you check the connections at the sub terminals? perhaps you made an simple mistake when re-installing them and their is an impedence error.

i very rarely post questions. I more often than not correct people like you who dont really have a firm grasp on 12 volt electronics. everything you said was factually inaccurate.

Lets stay on track here lol i checked all the wiring, the imp. at the amp side of the speaker wires reads 0.7ohm's on both speakers, but i did find a wire that came lose but i am not sure if it would matter, i have dual inputs for my amp and one of the grounds was not soldered good and came out of the end WOULD this cause the problem???? i dont think it would because i still had one sold ground but thats just a guess. thanx to everyone that has posted on this topic any tips, hint, tricks is helpful

if the ground wazs coming in contact with the amp chassis. it could. as your volume increased it could have caused the vibation to have the ground lead touch the case and send it into protect. if thats what caused it be glad it wasnt a 12+ lead.

OK so i just resoldered the ground and it still cuts out when i turn my bass knob up half way (i had the knob all the way up when i set the gain). the only thing i can think of that i did differant is lower the LPF and SSF to just below box tuning to accomidate the new box

have you pulled the woofers out to make sure you dont havea ny wires touching the basket. Ive had that happen too. You also could have an alt going bad as well. ive seen taht happen too.
