I boot into an XP VM under win7 and install instacal, then install the termlab software. As per the instructions, I plug in the termlab box and open the instacal utility. It says the program will detect the termlab data acquisition system, but I didn't receive any sort of pop up menu saying that anything happened. OK... So I go to start the software and it gives the error The Term-Lab usb key must be attached to the computer before you can run this program (6043-FF37-FE32). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it does the same thing. This is really frustrating and I'm not sure what to do. I have a laptop that is preinstalled with the software and that works, but the thing is a POS and I'd like to get it installed on my good one. P4killer_ Posted September 28, 2012 Report Share Posted September 28, 2012 its two. and it should recog your tl box the first time you boot instacal. if not then something is wrong on the usb side :. drivers or hardware. TL does have several chipset issues in regards to usb, but usually only when trying to take measurements. meaning it starts up and detects fine, but wont read once the application is up and running. call wayne for the fastest response, but since you bought it second hand he might ask you to buy a matainence package.. idk if those are transferable. try a different usb port.
