You can find an R33 for around $15,000. R34 will cost you a little more. The biggest issue is getting it legal in the states. I hope you have some friends in the right places. that like you enough to help you get there lol

i have a friend that just bought an R33. Paid $15,700 for it. It came with a legal title. Hes been spending a lot of money to get it legal on the road thou. Cool cars, good luck if you are serious..

Fuck the newer celicas. But if you can find a 91-98 celica all-trac, THOSE bitches are fun. Turbo'd, awd, fun as fuck.

under construction

Have you looked into Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4s or Dodge Stealth RT TTs?

All wheel drive, active suspension dampening, active aero, active exhaust, all wheel steering, twin turbos, and more.

No. I own a stealth.

He would go broke in two months from maintenance alone.

also, all these features are either on one car or the other. Active aero is vr4, aws is on 1st and 2nd gens only, same with active exhaust...only until 1994...more pricey to maintain.....I would go a different route.

I have a '95.. so 2nd gen.. and the original owner is my grandma. It has 151k miles on it and she owned it until 148k. The got got the 60 and 120k services. The only thing thats gone wrong are 2nd gear and reverse tranny synchros... and thats with me beating on it. I have a n/a so of course its more reliable than a TT. Reliability partially depends on how well/poorly the car is taken care of.

I know about what cars the features are on. I was referring to 1st and 2nd gens when I was talking about AWS. Good luck finding a true 3rd gen for sale. If ya could, itd be $$

If the OP could find a 1st gen VR4 I think hed be happy.

So, you want a project supercar, but would have to park it a neighbors house while you work on it at the pace of $700/month? Dude, you're just trying to piss them off aren't you? Lol. Get your head out of the clouds man. You want something realistic and unique, sorta super car-esque, but will be good on gas and good on insurance for someone young? Get yourself a Lexus IS300. They can be had with ultra-high miles for about $8000 or nice ones for $15k. They already have a version of the 2jz motor in them, and are fun to drive. You can add a turbo on the cheap and see up to 700 hp without major work to the engine. And parts in the tuner community are plentiful. If you are over 6' tall, it probably isn't the car for you, but if you are under 6', this would be ideal. And there is a pretty large tuner forum dedicated just to this car.

Here's mine, lowered on 20s....

I'm 6'2 and the B-pillar is right at my ear when I drive. My GF is 5'1", and it's perfect for her! But it's still a nice car to drive, just not optimal for a tall guy. Might still be worth looking into.
