Then she actually told us thank you for loving her enough to protect her from pervs like that. Also has went through all her freind list with us to set her mind at ease. The one comment she said that hit me. She wishes she was older cause it's not safe now a days to be a kid. Back in your day dad there were predators but they didn't have the social sites or the access to us like now. It scares me and makes me wonder if it's safe to walk off alone at the mall anymore. That's sad to hear that from a child but it's true. Thank you OP for this post cause stuff like this needs to be stoped and with this post it might help bring awareness to more of those who say "It won't happen to me." More parents need to care enough to noticed what is going on in their children's life and not be blind to the problems out there. Apologise for long post. He was a 24 year old guy. and was quite open about everything, I checked and he didn't lie about his age or anything. anyway I was snooping on her FB on the family computer (i know i shouldn't of been but whatever and she was meeting this guy later in the week for the first time after talking for months . I told my parents who asked her about it and she said that hes just a friend and wants to go watch a movie. I tell them not to let her go so they don't. We reported the guy and have never heard anything since. He doesn't know our address or numbers or anything so im not worried about him but its still sickening how people can go to such lengths. Maybe he was a good guy, but my sister is 14, very tall as the whole family is so she easily looks older, and this was just to sus for my liking. Dog, I completely agree with all you said, except for you apologizing for the long post. Lol. But, all in all, really, there are too many creeps out there. I myself am 23 and while it's perfectly legal, I find 18-20 to be too young. I mean I can go and drink, you can't. What's the fun in that? There is none. and I'm not about underage drinking... knowin my luck we'll break up and she reports me for supplying as she's completely hammered. So I just don't get that. And with how aggressive the creeps are? I'm honestly not surprised that your daughter said not even safe to walk to the mall. I mean shit... at work, I hit on a girl. All I said was "You look good today". She almost had a heart attack and avoided me for a week. I kid you not. Meanwhile she's older than me. So now, I actually feel bad. I mean I don't think I crossed the line but obviously I upset her or whatnot. Yet, it was 100% innocent. In the invent it may have protected her from someone that had should have not went that far. She will realize you were looking out for her cause you care. Just in the meantime it sucks when you know she's mad at you. Wasted you are in that age range of 18-24 that just has it hard. Couple in that range may have a school sweetheart that may a grade or two behind or ahead. Which can cause allot of problems like this guy in the news a few weeks ago.Him and his girl freind were school sweethearts since 8th grade. He was a 8th grader she was a 6th grader when he was a senior he was 19 she was 16 someone turned him in for kissing her at a movie. He got 2yrs soliciting a miner and statutory rape and labeled a sex offender. Even though neither of their parents pressed charges. He gets hammered for that but a 30+ adult can go after a young teen or child and few even notice or pays attention to that. Or they get a lesser punishment compared to that young man. My ex was just over a year younger then me, but because of where our birthdays lie she is two years behind me in school, lots of people got pissy at me about dating someone so much younger, but they didnt know her actually age. just judged her as to what year of high school she is in. I miss the " Good old days" when you could be friends with people and nothing bad came out of it. And you could as a young brat(me) walk to school,mall or whatever and not have to look over your shoulder. If imoa more would do as the OP did it would slow it down a little more.
