Bigsix Posted November 19, 2012 Report Share Posted November 19, 2012 If you dont have a shop in your area with a lot of AR parts, and are looking to build a decent rifle for a decent price, I would say to pick up a copy of the "Shotgun News"... lots and lots of advertisers in there with decent deals on stripped lowers, parts kits, stripped or built uppers... CLNSHVNnDRAGGN Posted November 20, 2012 Report Share Posted November 20, 2012 I would suggest picking up a stripped lower (~$100) and look at a Model 1 Sales complete kit (~$500 online depending on what you want with it) and let him put it together. There are plenty of videos on YouTube that will walk him though putting it together if he can't figure it out on his own and by building it he will have a better understanding of how everything works. Check gun shows for better deals. When I was building AR's regularly I was picking up the chrome lined Model 1 kits for $300-$400 at gun shows.
