Hold up a sec I found a kit that will cost you probably 5-600 and you can use extra for ammo and mags for him ;)

well are the magizines the same form factor as the m4/m16 if so i have about a dozen of them laying aroundfrom my first deployment.

i think he would enjoy building one more than a preassembled one so. and if its cheaper to build then im all for it.

the only part of a build you need to be 18 is the lower. once thats purchased you can piece it together the rest of the way.

i would rather build the rifle than to buy the delton, not saying its a bad rifle, with the $700 you can build one that is at par with the $1500 ones.. try going to the gun shows, the kits are sometimes sold for $300-$400. you will just need the receiver and maybe the lower receiver parts kit that only go for $70 at a gun shop or cheaper at the show

If you dont have a shop in your area with a lot of AR parts, and are looking to build a decent rifle for a decent price, I would say to pick up a copy of the "Shotgun News"... lots and lots of advertisers in there with decent deals on stripped lowers, parts kits, stripped or built uppers... Good place to start looking.

- Currently on jack stands, wanting to be a real race car

I would suggest picking up a stripped lower (~$100) and look at a Model 1 Sales complete kit (~$500 online depending on what you want with it) and let him put it together. There are plenty of videos on YouTube that will walk him though putting it together if he can't figure it out on his own and by building it he will have a better understanding of how everything works. Check gun shows for better deals. When I was building AR's regularly I was picking up the chrome lined Model 1 kits for $300-$400 at gun shows. One other route to go would be a New Frontier polymer complete lower ($110) and then a Model 1 upper half that meets your needs.

He was taunting me. He's all like "come at me bro!" So I'm like "I'm coming at you bro!" And he's like "hey, fuck you" *chomp*. Then I killed it. I win.

^^^ you have truly taken being a lazy fuck to a new level tonight, an MRE. WOW
