Im not much help, but, I'd see if you can get snafu to chime in.

He has a blown 72, that is scary looking. And epic cool.

Even though your packing chev power, he could help, I'd promise that.

Here he is, with a buddy...

the whine is bad ass.... dig the hell outta it....

  • If you dont have inspections in your state then no issue but the smog "Air Pump" and factory manifolds that accept the air injection have been deleted.
  • The heater core bypass could be done much better, currently they have the heater bypass wrapped around the fuel intake line - you want to keep heat AWAY from the fuel lines.
  • You want to put a real throttle spring setup on there.
  • replace the heater core
  • those cheap valve covers are going to leak - usualy in the rear, it will dump oil on the headers and smoke like a bitch.
  • may as well check but with these modifications you can bet there is no catalytic converter as well (or gutted). Inspection or not cats are a federal requirement and can be spot checked on the street.
  • no fan shroud is no good.

IMO - if you are looking for something to just buy and drive stay away. If you are ready to put some time and money into this ride to finish what someone else started then step up; this could be a fun ride for the right person.

If you are paying someone else to do the work it gets kinda iffy.

CURRENT SYSTEM:

  • Alternator:
    1. Stock alt on mids/highs
    2. Isolated DC Power 270 SP - Charging @ 16.8v
  • Batteries: (2) XS D1400s
  • Power Cable: Double Runs of 1/0 KNU Kolossus Fleks
  • Headunit: 80-PRS
  • Sub Amp: DC 5.0k
  • Subwoofers: 2 RE MT 15s /PSI dual .7ohm recones
  • Subwoofer Enclosure: 9.1cubes @ 32hz - brutal.
  • Mids & Highs Amp: CT125.4
  • Active Components:
    • Mids RE XXX 6.5c
    • Highs - 3 RE XXX tweeters per side(A pillar)
  • Noise Control: Damplifier Pro all over the cab.

Not too shaby for 2k, but i would try and see how low you can get it for though. It needs all those vacuum lines and hoses cleaned up, shortened and consolidated for a cleaner look.

One area you might have a problem with is the T-top gaskets leaking or sealing properly and making noise at highway speeds, other wise it would make a nice summer project car.
