I mean it's not 100% invalid. Of course you don't want someone who "occasionally" snaps to own a gun. However, like we all have said, there are plenty of other weapons that people can use that are just as harmful.

Imagine the guy in the school, if he walked in with a machete he could've done exactly the same amount of damage. Everyone is unarmed and very helpless. A butter knife in the wrong hands is just as bad!

There were 3 men at the school. Just saying. I've watched a ton of Connecticut news stories on that, 4 hand guns found inside the school.

Might be off topic but look at this Dec. 14th FEMA L-366. Planning for the needs of Children etc... I don't understand it.

Yea I watched an exposed video where it showed some guy all camo'd out running from the cops behind the school. Also saw that training and how it was scheduled about 20 min from the school. Def weird!

Agreed its the intent of the person. I think his wife is just saying itd be nice not to put a gun in someone's hands who has a high risk of having a bad intent.

That's where we have to really think, how can we check/test for that? We can't.

Not to mention, most people who commit these crimes don't even have their own gun. They steal them from their parents or family members.

Maybe we should have better checks on how people store and protect their guns? Or would this be considered too invasive?

First in the Nation: Beaufort County, NC Passes Gun Law Nullification Resolution

While a number of states are currently considering legislation to nullify federal gun laws, rules, acts, orders and regulations, and various sheriffs around the country are issuing notice that they will not enforce any such federal laws, a new grassroots undercurrent could be building to support those efforts. Local governments nullifying unconstitutional federal acts.

Today, Beaufort County, North Carolina became the first in the country to do so. The board of commissioners passed a nullification resolution in support of the 2nd Amendment. The vote was unanimous. The resolution reads, in part:

The Beaufort County Board of Commissioners calls upon the Governor and General Assembly of the State of North Carolina to immediately pass an act to nullify the implementation within the State of North Carolina of any Federal law, executive order or regulations restricting the right to keep and bear arms

It continues, and makes clear that the County will play no supporting role to the federal government in attacks on the 2nd Amendment:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the County Manager be directed to see that no county paid staff participate in nor allow any county resources be used in the implementation of any Federal law, executive order or executive directive that infringe on the right to keep and bear arms

Enthusiasm from the community was high. Representatives from the North Carolina Tenth Amendment Center reported that the “room was packed” to the point that the crowd was “overflowing out into the hall.” Two local tv stations were on hand to report as well.

Man, wish I could go to anything but work and the grocery store, but money's really tight at the moment, but that will change next month. Maybe I can go to the Feb 8th pro-gun rally in Tallahassee!
