lifes a BOX Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 1. When wiring two amps to two batterys in the back, should each amp be wired to its own battery or wire them both to one? 2. Would a capacitor on enough batteries help reduce wear and tear on the alternator? 3. Do capacitors cause any resistance? 4. Would running 0 gauge from the alt to the batteries in the back directly be a bad idea? (2 runs one to back one to hood batt) 5. Are there any potential problems from running subwoofer wire out of the box through the port? Thanks

Don't need a cap 3. Don't need a cap 4. Its a good idea. Fuse each run at both ends. 5. It looks ghetto as fuck. IMO SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

Go for it, make sure you fuse it.. 5. not besides it looks like ass
Guest Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 2) no. 3) a very very minuscule amount. but dont bother installing one if its the crap kind that is essentially a pringles can encased in clear plastic with a voltage gauge on the top. 4) you can do alt to under hood battery, then from under hood battery, to the rear batteries. 5) no.

Wouldn't matter, but I'd probably do it so there's peace in the universe... 2. no....the alternator still has to charge all the batteries as well as the capacitor 3. I imagine they do but you probably wouldn't see the difference 4. wouldn't be a bad idea 5. possible port noise....and like orion said, ghetto as fuck haha AA-Atomic-Clif Designs-DC-Diamond-Digital Designs-Directed-Eclipse-Fi-Hertz-Hifonics-Kenwood-Memphis-Phoenix Gold-Pioneer-PPI-PSi-Stinger-Sundown-TC Sounds-Viper-Zapco

CleanSierra Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 ^^^^^Double fuse the wires huh?I'm curious why you'd suggest 2 fuses on the same run? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Tarball Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 ^^^^^Double fuse the wires huh?I'm curious why you'd suggest 2 fuses on the same run? Because you would want to protect the wire by fusing close to each power source - the alt in the front and the battery in the rear.
