Hard to find some one that has used both for the same application and clamped both alts to see which one is putting out best amperage.

its almost like asking which is better Chocolate Ice Cream or Vanilla Ice Cream. your going to have so many different opinions

Have you done the Big 3?

i looked at the big 3 that is pinned in the top of forum. and from what i have read yes.

i have 0 gauge, an inline fuse . i also have an optima batt.

does this complete the big three?

I would ask: which alternator would you choose for my truck?

I would also add another battery, like you said you are, before I looked into a h/o alternator

looking into a 14 volt XS batt. at the moment, and a 240 amp G series mechman.

stick to normal batteries and stay away from the 14 volts. You'll need an additional charger or your battery will eventually be junk.

pick a company any of the ones mentioned will do you right.

why not put a second battery in the auxiliary location under the hood?

and no you dont have the big three done if your idea is a fuse a run of power and an optima

Why stay away from 14v?

I am planning on adding a second batt. in auxiliary location :good:, for the 14v (under the hood), and keeping a 12v in stock position. and getting a stepdown module or isolator(which is correct?)

what would complete. the big 3?

I have 0 guage wire run with an 200 inline fuse for the audio. and 4 guage run to the amps. and 8 guauge ran to the speakers.

what other should be done

thanks!
