MrSkippyJ
How does the switch change how close the brake is to the floor? I am not understanding something here. mbdblue
this sounds strange....the brake switch (wire) is an electrical connection, while the brake pedal being compressed is a mechanical movement. Only thing I can think of is them possibly moving the brake pedal to get to the wire/switch and forgetting to move it back...but I don't know the wiring for that vehicle. This problem has NEVER happened before in the 4 years I had the car until they installed the remote start system thats why I knew something was wrong.. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/141026-2001-bravada-build-2-15supdated/?fromsearch=1 ----old build!! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194247-2005-chrysler-300c-buildslowwwww-lol/ -----new build!! mrdavebasshead75
The brake switch has nothing to do with the pedal movement. I understand your "disbelief" Ray, but like you know your car I know mine and this has NEVER happened until I installed the RS. The guy qouted that he had to move the switch because he broke the tab that holds that switch when he attached the brake wire. He just did not realize how far forward he reattached it. No biggie, its fixed now free of charge. Glad I did NOT mess with it! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/141026-2001-bravada-build-2-15supdated/?fromsearch=1 ----old build!! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194247-2005-chrysler-300c-buildslowwwww-lol/ -----new build!! mrdavebasshead75
I've done hundred of alarms I've never moves the pedal to tap a brake switch Btw calling out ray on a vehicle isn't smart. Id bet my house he knows it better.than you No disrepect Nate to you or Ray, but I do know my car and how it works. Im no dummy nor have I just started driving. And yes I do know who im talking to. He is a man just like I am and I am entitled to my opinion just like he is. He is not God. The situation turned out to be that the installer did in fact brake the switch and had to remount it but he remounted it too far forward causing the pedal to be too far forward. It has been fixed properly by the shops owner and he also gave me a $100 coupon for the next install which I will use for my Bravada. Thanks again for all you guys help and look forward to more help in the future. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/141026-2001-bravada-build-2-15supdated/?fromsearch=1 ----old build!! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194247-2005-chrysler-300c-buildslowwwww-lol/ -----new build!! mrdavebasshead75
@Ray, I do appreciate your opinion but the guy was a new installer and he did foul up. Its no biggie, the owner fixed it and the brake pedal is working fine now. Im sure you guys know your shit, but just because someone says "well ive installed a million alarms/rs" doesnt mean the next installer has. Shit if all the installers had the knowledge you guys have, people wouldn't have these issues. Thanks again my friend.. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/141026-2001-bravada-build-2-15supdated/?fromsearch=1 ----old build!! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194247-2005-chrysler-300c-buildslowwwww-lol/ -----new build!! n8ball2013
But what Ray is saying there is no reason to move it. Its about the pedal. Its not just a fuck up its a you shouldnt have a job doing this type of thing. If you cant grab it above the pedal you grab it at the column. I can not even come up with one good reason to do what he did. it takes longer to do that than to tag the wire.
